About > Our Staff

Andrew Buchanan has practised at Millpoint Veterinary Centre since 1999. For the past 12 years he has offered a dedicated, individual service where clients know they will always see the same vet, the practice owner.

Andrew graduated in the UK in 1984. After 3 years in mixed practice in the Yorkshire Dales, the pull of Africa proved irresistible and he spent the next 3 years in companion animal practice in Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. He migrated to Australia in 1990 and for the last seventeen years
has practised in Perth.

Andrew is supported by a great team of qualified and registered Veterinary Nurses:

Christine Murray arrived at Millpoint before Andrew, her only leave of absence since a four-year sabbatical in Brunei with her family. Christine is practical and thorough. Andrew reckons she deserves a medal for putting up with him for so long! Christine owns a pair of Golden Retrievers and a Flat Coated Retriever pup called Jaffa!

Rachael Iannolo graduated from AVT’s Veterinary Nursing course at the top of her class (she would never tell you that so we thought we’d better!). Rachael’s unfailingly pleasant manner is backed up by her meticulous approach to her nursing work. She is the loving owner of Pud – the most ferocious cat in the West!

Emma Papworth is a highly experienced Veterinary Nurse and dog agility trainer. Returning to the workforce last year, Emma was recommended to Andrew by a mutual friend and Millpoint Veterinary Centre has benefited ever since. Recently awarded life membership by the Northern Suburbs Training & Obedience Dog Club, Emma nurses all patients carefully but has a special spot in her heart for any Kelpie that comes through the doors.

Felicity Higgs is the most recent addition to our nursing team but she’s fitted in so well with her open compassionate manner that we find it hard to remember that she started with us only last October. Originally from Northam, Felicity brings a cheery, no-nonsense approach to her work.
